Essential Info

The SkylinkHome Wireless Motion Alert Kit can be placed indoors or outdoors to alert you of security breaches. Using infrared technology, the motion sensor will detect any movement and report it to the Household Alert® Receiver to alert you.

You can set the system to one of three operating modes to be alerted of movement. All three modes will flash an LED to notify you of movement, but you can change the mode based on the audio indicator you would like to receive. Alert Mode beeps when a sensor is activated, Alarm Mode will scare off intruders with a 95 dB siren, and Off will not emit and audio indictation.

A Supervised Sensor is included in the units to monitor their batteries and let you know when the battery life is getting low. Up to 16 sensors (sold separately) can be used in up to 4 zones with this Wireless Motion Alert Kit.

    There was a delay in shipping due to being temporarily out of the item I had ordered.     I've already written a review for this system but after living with it for about a month I thought I'd add some more info about that might not be clear from the description on the site. The sensors are weatherproof. I've had them exposed to several thunderstorms as well as Hurricane Irene and no water got in. Didn't get any false alarms during the big tropical storm either in spite of the very heavy winds. Battery consumption is excellent. I've been on the same batteries for over a month now and everything is still working perfectly. I never get false alarms any more. When the system goes off, I'm almost 100% sure it's due to someone poking around.

    The base station HA434RTL works as advertised. Remote wireless sensor HA-434TL worked as advertised for a couple of weeks. By that I am refering to the rated distance of coverage. After setup with a new battery, the sensor detected motion at the rated distance. Within a week it detected motion at a distance half or so as advertised and thereafter a little less. I wish the remote wireless sensor would cover the rated range of detection for a few months if not a whole year, but it seems that is not the case. I am only rating the base station on this review the HA434RTL and that is working fine.

    After an attempted break-in at my place, I started looking into whether I could set up a simple early-warning system to let me know the second someone steps into my driveway at night. This product seemed to be a simple way to try out what I had in mind, since it requires no complex rewiring of the house electrics. I have two sensors mounted on the wall of my house pointed straight down to cover windows on 2 floors and basement. It took a day or two to calibrate and test properly but the system works beautifully. There is no way for a thief to spend any significant amount of time in front of any window without getting caught by the sensors.

    it would be nice if the instruction sheet included how to connect the sensor to the wall support. they had plenty of room to make a diagram of how to connect the wire clip to the support portion of the device. could not find the info on their web site either. no response from a phone call to their business location.
