Track the whereabouts of your pet, child, or aging relative, or even assets such as boats or cars with the Gemtek, a personal and portable tracking device that combines the technology of global positioning satellites (GPS), cellular phone communication (GSM) and the Internet within a small device that can transmit an approximate location within seconds.
Hands-On ResearchWe extensively tested the Gemini Personal GPS Tracker and were very impressed with its reliability. We had 1 tester take the tracker with them in the car and another tester monitored it's path online. Online was a couple of seconds behind it's path but it didn't miss a turn we made. It came within 2 houses of our final destination. We believe this product can be very useful in the following applications:
Locating Loved Ones:
1. Kids carry it in their backpack, pocket or arm band (sold separately). You can determine their approximate whereabouts whenever you need to know them. They also can call you at a pre-programmed # or if they were unable to talk but had an emergency they can push the "SOS" button which will send an email and/or cellphone message with the devices approximate location. (The message will say "John has pressed the SOS button. The location was near 111 Main St, Boston, MA 02115 on 12/10/07 at 1:55pm"). If they were ever abducted or kidnapped, they could quietly push the SOS button and be tracked. The device could be a lifesaver.
2. Seniors can carry it with them. You can locate them at any moment and they can call you in an emergency.
3. Want to make sure your child stays within the school grounds, park grounds or a pre-defined area? Activate the Geofence and you will be automatically alerted if your child leaves the area.
4. Pets can also be kept to a pre-defined area (say, your yard); you will be notified if your pet is outside her safe zone.
Locating Valuables:
1. Can't find your laptop? Put the Gemini Personal GPS Tracker in your briefcase & you never have another misplaced laptop or other valuable item.
2. Carry the device in your car & you can track it (up to 15 hours fully charged) if it's stolen.
Personal Tracking:
1. Need to track a person's location? With the autotrack feature you can decide how often you get updates on the whereabouts of the device.
2. Relatives or kids taking a long trip? Set up auto-tracking and monitor their travels.

Useful for ParentsParents can easily affix the Gemtek to their child and know if they are where they should be and track their location in the event that they are lost or abducted. Parents can also receive a distress SOS call from the child in the event of an emergency: When the SOS button is pressed for four seconds, a message is sent, including the location of the device to your home phone or cell phone, whichever two contacts you have chosen to receive alert notifications. Note: If there is not a contact selected to receive the alert, by default, the alert will be sent to the email address and mobile phone of the contact stored in speed dial 1.
The Geofence function allows you to set a boundary for your device. If the Personal GPS Tracker goes outside of the user-defined Geofence area, an alert will immediately be sent to the contact(s) that you have selected to recieve alert notifications. One father sets a Geofence around his daughter's school every day during school hours so that he knows at all times that his daughter is safely at school. Default size of the Geofence is 500 feet.
Aging RelativesFamilies with aging relatives can be free from worry that their loved ones can reach them on a moment's notice and transmit their exact location if they need assistance.
Pet OwnersPet owners can rest assured that their beloved pets remain within the confines of their yard or can be located in the event that they wander off or get lost.
Asset ProtectionThe Personal GPS Tracker can also be used to locate a boat or car, or companies can track valuable assets, such as inventory or laptop computers, and know the precise location of the asset or receive an alert if it has been moved from a particular location. Additional applications include fleet management tracking, personal security for independent workers, safety locator devices for police officers and fire/rescue personnel, and security for schools and day care facilities.
Cellphone FunctionCalls can be placed to two pre-programmed numbers using the speed-dial buttons on the left side of the Gemtek by the carrier of the device. The Personal GPS Tracker can also accept incoming calls.
If you do not have immediate access to the Internet and you wish to locate the device, you can also do so through your cellular phone's text function or call in to the locator service.
Web AccessGemtek owners can log into a password-protected, user-friendly web panel with detailed maps to find the approximate location of the Gemtek device at the click of a button. You can locate your device 24/7 from your cell phone and receive a detailed street address within seconds. Note: Only the numbers stored in the unit's speed-dial buttons may request a position from their cellphones.
Unit DetailsAn LED indicator shows GSM and GPS signal strength, as well as a low battery indicator light.
The tri-band modem operates continuously with a 16 channel GPS receiver for worldwide coverage, and a highly sensitive GPS module.
This unit has a short charging time of only 4 hours to restore full battery capacity of up to 15 hours, with an active talk time of up to 4 hours.
*Users must subscribe to the monthly locator service (www.geminitracking.com) to use this device. This service has a monthly fee, amount dependant on level of service desired.
