Essential Info

The Minotaur Engineering IVT2 Variable Temperature Sensor for INSTEON I/O Linc provides a way to sense temperatures and trigger INSTEON^® enabled devices. It interfaces to a standard INSTEON^® I/O Linc device (purchased separately) and triggers based on user settings. (Approximately 0-120° F.)

The sensor is completely self contained and uses a solid state transducer preset at the factory. There are three leads extending from the sensor. The sensor should be placed in a location that will protect it from moisture and direct sun to accurately reflect the ambient temperature.

Works well. At first I had some problems but it turns out my I/O Linc wasn't working right. I seemed to get some chatter as it triggered. I replaced the I/O Linc actually Smarthome - Matt I think, got it here very fast. After that it worked fine. Good value overall.

I assembled and used this to control a heat lamp for our gecko. It took me a few days to get the setting right, but has since functioned perfectly. Adjustment was easy and the Insteon system pretty solid. You will need a tiny screwdriver to attach the wires, but setting it up was fast. After setting an initial temp, make slight adjustments as the unit warms or cools to ambient. No issues and a good value.

A friend at my office suggested that I get one of these to control the heat in my reptile cage. I didn't know anything about Insteon. In the end it was pretty easy and worked very well. I would recomend this device.

I set this up to control the heater for my reptile cage. A couple days/ adjustments to get the temp just right but works like a charm now. The unit I received looks a bit different than the one in the picture, but works perfectly. I am satisfied with purchase and will buy again.
