Essential Info

Increase safety and security round your home for family members and guests with the Solar Powered Motion Activated 80 LED Security Floodlight. It turns on automatically when it detects movement, so your loved ones and guests won't have to walk up to a dark home; additionally it will help to deter potential intruders. This light is the perfect solution for areas where electricity is not available yet lighting is desired, such as porches, driveways, garages, doorways, and any other area around your home.

The floodlight is solar powered, so no electrician or custom wiring is needed for installation, and there are no operating costs. The solar panel can be located up to 15 feet away from the light using the included cable, making it convenient to mount the panel in a area where it can capture the most sunlight or to mount the light indoors. It features an adjustable PIR motion sensor with a 180° / 35 foot detection range and an adjustable daylight sensitivity (lux). Once movement has been sensed, 80 ultra-bright LEDs will illuminate for a user specified period of time; good for activation up to 360 times for one minute at a time on a full charge. One 6V 4Ah sealed lead acid rechargeable battery is built-in.

My only complaint is that the plastic is very weak. I use this inside my shed with the solar panel mounted outside. Works great for what I need. Hopefully it will last.

Received this item in a timely fashion. Installation was simple and early performance seems fine. The light is fairly bright and quite handy when going out to the shed at night. We shall see how it performs in the long term.

The lead acid battery within the enclosure will destroy the photocell electronic components within one year. VENT the lead acid battery to directly outside the enclosure or RELOCATE the lead acid battery outside the enclosure. You will then have a 5-star rated product!

A well-designed security floodlight that makes sense for remote locations or situations that don't have A/C power readily available. Not as bright as the A/C units, but far better than nothing, where light is needed at night. Not too hard to install. All of my solar panels are mounted on the roofs, for full sun- light exposure. Smarthome has the best price out there, bar none.

I am very pleased with the ease of installation, adjustment, etc. You are not drenched in light but hey, it is solar powered and it is sufficient to see. Best thing is that it uses no electricity! My local electric coop is the second highest in the nation so anything at all helps!

I simply love these things and have bought several. The amount of light is fantastic... much more than I could of dreamed coming from anything solar powered. I have them on all corners of the house and enjoy knowing that I will not have to replace batteries, run any wires...and doubtfully will have to change bulbs. The detection range is better than expected and works well in rain, snow, as well as 'normal' conditions. A few of mine do not detect dog-sized movement, but a few do... (all with sensitivity set at maximum).. but that is not a big deal. If I had more sunny spots I would put more up. Love these things.

After having this product for about two years I noticed it stopped turning on. I did some investigating and learned the motion detector was no longer working. With no manual on/off and no working motion detector this became nothing more than a useless ornament on the back of my house. So much for increased security.

This is not going to turn midnight into noon. It's not a hugely bright light that you can use to party or BBQ with. However that is not the purpose of this light. This light makes a dark yard even pitch black bright enough to see what's going on or walk around in safely. That means if someone is trying to sneak up and break into your house this will make them visible to anyone looking. It serves as an excellent deterrent at the least. The install is as simple as can be. Mount the light with the included screws. Mount the solar panel I mounted mine directly above, but it has a really long cable with the included screws. Connect the solar panel to the light. Then simply leave it turned off to charge for 24-48 hours. Once charged set the sensitivity, set the light level at which it will turn on, and adjust the sensor. The whole process takes mere minutes. Don't worry if it comes on while it's still fairly light out. I have never managed to run the battery down no matter how often it came on and with 3 dogs that can be a lot!.

Exceptionally pleased with these 80LED solar powered lights. I now own several around my home and love the fact they have a large detection range, adjustable sensitivity and time settings... and provide the most output of light I have ever seen from a solar charged LED. They are easy to put up and have several ways you can adjust the motion detector more so than the light itself but using a little creativity, I have been able to make these work for just about every angle possible. They are dependable in all climates so far down to 19degF and Smarthome is a dependable company to buy from!
