Essential Info
WaterCop's new Z-Wave version of their automatic water shut-off system uses patented wireless technology providing an automatic valve for your main water supply line.Using this device in a Z-Wave home automation network along with the Z-Wave water alarm sensor is the best way to effectively reduce water damage caused by leaking pipes or failing appliances such as a water heater. WaterCop provides the ultimate protection 24/7, 365 days a year. by using the latest and most reliable wireless home automation technology. Using your existing Z-Wave controllers you will be able to remotely Open / Close your main water supply. On the front of the WaterCop control unit you will see soft touch buttons which allow you to manually Open / Close the valve. The water sensor will always be monitoring the area and will automatically Close the valve whenever necessary. The water alarm sensors are battery operated devices which enable them to be located anywhere a leak is likely to occur, or wherever water might cause damage. The WaterCop Z-Wave requires line voltage 110VAC and will not operate automatically in the event of a power outage (manual control of the valve will still be available). The Water Alarm Sensor also works as a temperature sensor to alert you of drops in temperature that may cause freezing in your pipes resulting in a leak. With both temperature and water accumulation being monitored 24-hours a day, you can now rest easy when on vacation or away form the home for any other reason. Note: This item requires the use of one Ready-Valve (Sold Separately): WaterCop Ready Valve, 1 1/4" LeadFree

More Info
|
Each WaterCop Z-Wave can support multiple Water Alarm Sensors. A WaterCop Z-Wave Network can have up to a total of 232 nodes. Additional sensors may be added at anytime you choose. Again these Water Alarm Sensors should be placed in areas where water is most likely to accumulate.
Water Alarm Mode: This is the default mode of operaton when shiped from the factory. This provides prtoectin against water leaks or floods. After receiving a Basic Set Command from an associated water sensor The WaterCop Z-Wave valve will close. The user must manually open the valve after checking and fixing any leaks that may have activated the system. It is very important to be sure the leaking has stopped before opening the valve; in many cases water will just run away from the sensor that was originally triggered. This mode allows the WaterCop Z-Wave to be opened remotely sending a Binary Switch Set command to the WaterCop and by using the Open button on the front of the WaterCop.
Manual Operation (No AC Power Available): WaterCop Z-Wave is not capable of receiving power when disconectted from AC/DC power converter, for example during a blackout or other types of power failures. In this situation, you will use the handle at the top of the WaterCop Z-Wave. Turning this handle in the direction indicated on the valve will close the water valve,
The WaterCop must be used indoors only: In the main water line Just down stream from the main water shut-off valve In a dry Location Where it is accessible for checking and reseting the valve Where the case is protected from use as a step or from excessive loads
Suggested Locations: Washing Machines Toilets Sump Pumps Dishwashers Bathroom Sinks Kitchen Sinks Automatic Humidifiers Ice Makers/Refrigerators Water Heaters Pipes that are Prone to Freezing
