Users can select between 2, 5, 10, 15 or 20 minute time frames in which the Autocloser will automatically shut the garage if left open for that amount of time. A disable button is also available, knowing that there are times in which users may want to leave their garage open for an extended period of time. The Autocloser incorporates the latest micro-controller technology, infrared light sensors and advanced software algorithms to deliver a safe and reliable product. It installs onto most garage door openers in a matter of minutes and only basic hand tools are needed for proper installation. The unit is AC powered (adapter included).

Important Note: The Autocloser is recommended for use with garage door openers that comply with the latest government safety requirements (i.e. those with automatic reversing mechanisms and electronic photo eye sensors that detect obstructions). If your garage door does not have these government-mandated safety features, replace or update your garage door opener before installing the Autocloser automatic garage attendant.
The Autocloser monitors the garage door's position and the disable button. When it senses that the garage door has been open for a set period of time (user selectable: 2, 5, 10, 15 and 20 minutes)— and the disable button has not been activated — the garage door will close. The automatic closer does this by connecting to the terminals on the garage door opener wall button, thus simulating the press of a button.
The installation process for the Xceltronix Autocloser is a simple process that takes approximately 20 minutes. The installation manual provides a step-by-step procedure, complete with illustrations. Only commonly available basic hand tools are needed for proper installation (drill, screwdriver, adjustable wrench and a wire cutter/stripper).
