Essential Info

Have you ever left for work in the morning only to realize that you accidentally left the garage door open all night long? Restore your peace of mind with the Xceltronix Garage Door Autocloser, an automatic garage attendant that closes your garage door when you inadvertently leave it open. Users can select between 2, 5, 10, 15 or 20 minute time frames in which the Autocloser will automatically shut the garage if left open for that amount of time. A disable button is also available, knowing that there are times in which users may want to leave their garage open for an extended period of time. The Autocloser incorporates the latest micro-controller technology, infrared light sensors and advanced software algorithms to deliver a safe and reliable product. It installs onto most garage door openers in a matter of minutes and only basic hand tools are needed for proper installation. The unit is AC powered (adapter included).

    Important Note: The Autocloser is recommended for use with garage door openers that comply with the latest government safety requirements (i.e. those with automatic reversing mechanisms and electronic photo eye sensors that detect obstructions). If your garage door does not have these government-mandated safety features, replace or update your garage door opener before installing the Autocloser automatic garage attendant.

    The Autocloser monitors the garage door's position and the disable button. When it senses that the garage door has been open for a set period of time (user selectable: 2, 5, 10, 15 and 20 minutes)— and the disable button has not been activated — the garage door will close. The automatic closer does this by connecting to the terminals on the garage door opener wall button, thus simulating the press of a button.

    The installation process for the Xceltronix Autocloser is a simple process that takes approximately 20 minutes. The installation manual provides a step-by-step procedure, complete with illustrations. Only commonly available basic hand tools are needed for proper installation (drill, screwdriver, adjustable wrench and a wire cutter/stripper).

    Simple to install, easy to use. Because I live in Alaska where temps can go below -40°, I wish there were an option to close the door in as little as one minute, but that would not be practical in most climates. Over all very satisfied after one month of use. Haven't actually needed it yet (that I know of?), but have pulled out a couple of times on purpose and not closed the door, just to watch it work. It's a MUST for cold climates!!

    Product installed easily. Worked as Advertised. Install and enjoy peace of mind. Safety features(door closing warnings) are adequate. A printed sticker with instructions on resetting times or deactivating/reactivating could be nice. Haven't needed to do it yet, but am fearful I have to look up directions if the time comes.

    Couldn't get the cheap thing to work right. The door actually opened by itself, then closed twice in two days. Then the velcro tape gave way leaving the box hanging by the live wire. It eas inexpensive and acts that way.

    This is the second one I have purchased and it works just fine and is easy to install. They need to send two spools of wire though, so be prepared to buy another 25' of 18 to 20 gauge wire. Definitely a must for home security!

    Easy to install and works very well, but the beeping sound is terribly annoying. It beeps for 30 seconds before the door starts to close, and then continues after the door has closed completely. This thing beeps too much and it drives me crazy.

    The product is easy to install and works wonderfully. I no longer worry about leaving the garage open all day. The cons: 1) The beeping is a little annoying, But its a reasonable feature. 2) You do have to run a wire across the garage to a wall (override button). Accept this and you will be fine. Cost for peace of mind = great value.

    Love this item except for 1 thing. The tape for sticking to the garage door opener does not stick if you get temps over 88 F. Need to fix this
