Designed for both residential and commercial dwellings, the Water Heater Auto-Shutoff Valve uses an automatic 9VDC 3/4-inch full port motorized ball valve to shut off the water supply whenever your water heater leaks. The non-intrusive devices can be installed in as little as 10 minutes; no professional plumbers are required.
This kit includes everything you need to protect your property from costly water-leak damage: a valve installed on your cold water inlet, a water sensor to be placed on the floor, and the control unit, which is mounted to your wall with the included screws. The Water Heater Auto-Shutoff Valve can be installed using two adjustable wrenches in minutes, although some older homes' valves might be soldered to the pipes, which would require professional installation.
If your water heater should begin to leak, the controller tells the water valves to close and alerts you with an 87db alarm.
This shutoff valve is made for 3/4" valves. A water heater shutoff valve is also available for 1/2", 1" and 1-1/4" valves, each sold separately.
