This is a great product--I wish that the sensor wires were a bit longer but overall, a well-designed device!

I tested the device before and after installation and it has performed perfectly. The sensor did have an oily film (or had oxidized) which reduced conductivity but was easily wiped clean with a damp paper towel. After installing batteries, I found the clamshell case difficult to allign in order to close properly. If the unit is mounted on a wall, the one half of the clamshell case containing the circuit board and the connections to the sensor and valve, dangles from short thin wires that connect it to the half that houses the batteries. This requires that caution be taken to avoid breakage of those wires especially when mounting.

just installed this device for my old water heater, and it works perfectly and at the right price. Received quickly and no need to call for info as it was easy to set up with good instructions. A very good value that allows me to sleep at night and not worry about my basement flooding.

Ordered two of these. One worked, the other did not. I suspect their quality control is not very good, after reading other reviews.

I’m on my third one. The first two failed within 6 months. Failure discovered when I tested the unit to make sure it was working. It was not. Third one same thing. You don’t find out it does not work until you come home and find a flooded basement. Poor design. Too much torque on the drive to work as it is supposed to. Gear fracture on all three units. I’m a retired Mechanical Engineer. I am now making my own control using a brass solenoid valve. It’s scary to think I was depending on this product to prevent a huge loss and it does not do the job.

Very well, although I found one one inch valve so far as I am installing them on all heaters in a condo. I will send it back for replacement with a 3/4 inch

the h20 hot water value was installed in 15 minutes, now i will not worry about the hot water heater leaking and destroying my hardwood floors in my walk in closet. or my bath room floors or my insulation under my house. This happened to my next door neighbor.

Good product. I am refering my customers to it.

1/30/2011 Installed a few days ago. Dampened the sensor and the valve closed properly. Working fine. The hinged plastic controller housing was thin and needs a little care to snap closed after screwing the rear half to the wall or after opening to replace batteries.
