Essential Info

The Safety Technology International 34150 Battery Powered Wireless Driveway Monitor sends a wireless signal to your home to alert you when an unannounced vehicle enters your driveway. The receiver chimes and the ALERT light flashes red until reset.

The driveway sensor uses a patented magnetometer sensor system. Movement of any large metallic (iron or steel) object close to the driveway sensor will cause the sensor to transmit to the receiver. The sensor may be placed as far as 1000 feet (line of sight) from the receiver in your home. Additional sensors may be required for driveways exceeding 12 feet or to monitor an additional driveway.

I had to experiment with the location of the transmitter, but it is working very well, the alarm is not as intrusive as my last monitor I had, and the batteries are much easier to install.

Works OK but some false alarms and once did not go off at all. Needs a volume control and ability to turn off the red light, IMHO. I do recommend it to my neighbors.

It works! Sometimes when there's no car... I also found it hard to program. The instructions could be better. They conflict.

I am having problems with this system. While the transmitted range to the receiver is excellent, the unit does not detect the presence of a vehicle. I have tried to "key it" with a large foot square piece of metal and I can hear the cricket noise after moving it around a bit but then a vehicle passes by, nothing happens. I am going to try to reprogram it and see what happens before attempting to contact the manufacturer. I'll try to update this when I see what happens. Right now, I anm not at all happy with it.

Works perfectly. Monitor is 75' from receiver. Be careful not to mount it where something can tap it, like a branch blown by the wind, as this will set it off.

I am very dissapointed in this product. It seems to have it's own mind when it wants to alert and or not, and does not alert on all vehicles. The red light is annoying and must be reset constantly to prevent it from blinking. There is no volume control. I have had several discussions with the manufacturer's customer service and she said it should work; no help there. I would not recommend the purchase of this item.
