Bought this in combination with the 2 Button, 3 Channel Slimline RF Transmitter (Item # 7045A). I used this unit to add wireless controls to the low-voltage control box of a cable winch. The unit is small enough to allow me to fit it into the control box and draw power from the 24V transformer in that box. Drilled a little whole to make sure the antenna wire is on the outside of the box for best range. I liked the options you have to code the receiver for the four different actuation modes (2 timed, toggle and latch. My only gripe is signal quality and I am not sure whether that's a problem with the transmitter or the receiver. The receiver was coded to use toggle mode (i.e. push on/push off) to operate a winch. It did not allow me to reliably toggle the receiver. I needed to wait for 1-2 seconds between pushes for it to work and sometimes it didn't work at all. This may be OK for lights, garage doors, etc., but was scary for my application, so I changed the receiver to 'latch', i.e. push=on, release=off. Also, the advertised range of 500ft is clearly exaggerated. I was not able to make it work reliable beyond about 150ft with the receiver in unobstructed sight. Not a problem for my application, but something worth mentioning and the reason for the three-star rating. Please also refer to my review of item 7045A.
