Essential Info

Many new homes and office buildings already contain structured cabling systems of not only electrical and phone wiring, but also inexpensive cat. 5 twisted pair cable, which is commonly used as a data line. Take maximum advantage of this existing wiring by adding baluns to each end for a fast, easy and low-cost way to connect a CCTV camera to a monitor, multiplexer or video recorder. The Gold-Plated BNC Snap-In Balun is designed to work in pairs, but each is sold separately. A cat. 5 patch cord is required for each end and is sold separately.

The Gold-Plated BNC Snap-In Balun converts BNC video signals from unbalanced to balanced and vice versa, making the necessary impedance adjustments for A/V signal transmission between different wiring systems. This means that you can run your surveillance signal up to 2000 feet over inexpensive cat. 5 wiring, rather than rewiring your home in order to send these signals from room to room.

No external power supply is required to send surveillance video over cat. 5 cable. Just connect your surveillance camera to the balun to transmit a black & white video signal up to 2000 feet or a color video signal up to 1300 feet.

The Gold-Plated BNC Snap-In Balun includes a BNC connector and a snap-in terminal block; there's no need to waste time crimping RJ-45 connectors. BNC baluns are also available with male snap-in or screw-in connections.
