Essential Info
If you are installing a surveillance camera that requires a cable connection over a long distance, consider using this Active Video Balun Transmitter. Instead of using expensive coaxial cable for the connections, you can use this transmitter along with a receiver, sold separately, and connect the two with inexpensive Cat. 5 cable, also sold separately. The transmitter has a built in BNC connector for an easy connection with a CCTV surveillance camera. That signal is then sent to a removable terminal block; which means you don't have to waste time crimping Cat. 5 cable to an RJ-45 connector, just connect each wire with the Cat. 5 cable to the corresponding screw terminal on the block and put it back into the transmitter. When this transmitter is used with a receiver and Cat. 5 cable you can send black and white video up to a mile and a half away and color video can be sent up to a mile away; they can even be used to transmit and receive data or low voltage power. The transmitter balun is powered by a 12V power supply, included.
