Essential Info
Add access notification to your INSTEON network using I/O Linc - INSTEON Indoor/Outdoor Photobeam Entry Alert Kit. It enhances your INSTEON network by using an infrared (IR) beam of light that, when broken, will trigger INSTEON controlled lights and/or appliances to turn on. Install the photobeam sensor across the area nearest your front door, rear door, garage door or other entrances. Typical outdoor applications include placement across a driveway, gate, fence line and other areas of your property. Whether indoor or outdoor, the sensor will communicate with an I/O Linc interface when the photobeam is broken, sending an INSTEON signal throughout your network. The I/O Linc will cause an INSTEON controlled device or group of devices to activate when there is activity in or around your home or office. You can even connect a phone dialer to your I/O Linc to receive a call when the photobeam identifies activity. The photobeam transmitter/receiver sensor has a rugged all-weather waterproof enclosure and a range of up to 35 feet that ensures reliable operation in just about any environment. You can even adjust the sensitivity of the photobeam to suit your specific needs, which is ideal for areas where small objects may cause your sensor to be easily triggered.
How It Works
When something crosses the path of the photobeam between the transmitter/receiver and the reflector, the photobeam becomes broken. Sensors will then turn on the LED light on the transmitter/receiver and trigger the relay on I/O Linc. Once I/O Linc has been triggered, it will activate any linked INSTEON controlled device or group of devices for alert, security or safety purposes. For example, you can set the photobeam to cross your driveway and trigger lights in your home to flash as a notification when a vehicle enters your property. Other applications may include turning on the lights in the backyard when someone walks down your side yard, or triggering the record feature of your surveillance system DVR.

Photobeam Sensitivity Adjustment Functions
Minimum Setting -- The infrared signal emitted by the sensor is at its minimum or weakest. This means the sensor can be easily triggered by small obstructing objects
Maximum Setting -- The infrared signal emitted by the sensor is at its maximum or strongest. This means the sensor cannot be easily triggered by small obstructing objects
Photobeam Transmitter/Receiver and Reflector Weatherproof Rating
The Enforcer Indoor/Outdoor Wall Mounted Photoelectric Beam Sensor has been given a weatherproof ration of IP66, which is ideal for outdoor use. Ingress Protection (IP) is rating for electronic products as it relates to the amount of sealing they have against the entry of solid and liquid objects. The first number '6' refers to the degree of protection against access to hazardous parts and ingress of solid objects, 6 is the highest rating at "dust tight; complete protection against contact". The second number '6' refers to the degree of protection of the equipment inside the enclosure against the harmful entry of various forms of moisture, 6 is one of the highest ratings at "protection against heavy seas, or powerful jets of water".
Power Adapter
The included plug-in adapter has a six foot cable that allows for ease in placement and is terminated with a positive center coax plug.
