Protect your property with a freeze sensor that will not only monitor the temperature when you're away, but will also call you to alert you if the temperature dips to a dangerous level. The Basic Freeze Alarm is a battery-powered sensor that can be placed anywhere and uses your existing telephone line to call you when the temperature drops below 45° F. Place the Basic Freeze Alarm anywhere in the home or business to be monitored and plug the included phone cord into a convenient jack. This sensor will not interfere with your existing telephone service, although it is not compatible with PBX or other multi-line business phone systems. In the event of a temperature dip, the Basic Freeze Alarm will call out to any number you program, continuing to call until the temperature rises or the alert is canceled. You can set the sensor to call every 15 minutes or every 2 hours.

The Basic Freeze Alarm plays a pre-recorded voice message to the person answering the call or to an answering machine, repeating the message for a full minute. The alarm call out can be canceled by calling back to the Basic Freeze Alarm from any phone in the world.

In addition to receiving alerts temperatures drop, you can also call in to determine if your home is in danger of freezing. After 5 or 10 rings (selectable), the Basic Freeze Alarm will pick up and play its alert message if the temperature has dropped. You can even continue to use your existing answering machine or voicemail at the monitored location.

The Basic Freeze Alarm can also be used to alert you if the temperature rises above 85° F. For those who leave pets at home during the day, this is helpful during the summer months if you wish to monitor your air conditioning.

For top-of-the-line control, use the Deluxe Freeze Sensor. This advanced unit will connect to your existing heating system for remote temperature control and will send situation-specific messages depending on the problem detected. An Intermediate Freeze Alarm is also available. This sensor will call up to three different phone numbers to alert you in the event of a freeze or power outage, and the alert message is customizable.

after installing this alarm in my vacation home,I feel much more secure about an empty house.I can call it each day and feel releived when I hear the electric is on and the temp is the way I set it.Excellent.

Doesn't work. Tested with several cords on several phone jacks. When I removed the battery - the battery terminal broke. JUNK.

DIP switch #3 documentation may indeed be backwards. Mine was set to ON and the unit called every 15 minutes instead of 2 hours. Before leaving on vacation again, I will set the switch to OFF and test it. Sorry I can't tell you now if setting it to OFF causes it to call every 2 hours. Will also try the pause function at the end of the call-to number. My cell phone carrier's answering system T-Mobile truncates the message to the point that you're not sure of the call. A friend's carrier Verizon did not truncate the message. Confusing. Be sure to test it before you trust it.
    CREIGHTON -- burdett, NY   3/16/2007
Good product - I tested it and it called my cell phone as it was programmed to do. Dip switch for every (2) hours or every (15) minutes must be incorrect. Set for 2 hrs but calls every 15 min.
PETER -- sioux falls, SD   3/11/2007
The freeze alarm worked great. My furnace went out while I was out of State. The alarm called my cell phone and I had my neighbor restart the furnace. The alarm saved me a very costly plumbing and dry wall repair.
    SAMUEL -- arlington, VA   1/13/2007
Product meets my requirements and, based on test, it works! Thanks!

CAROL -- punta gorda, FL   1/1/2006
Takes a little while to get this thing set up right.
BETTY -- stephens city, VA   12/28/2005
Freeze Alarm tested good. I'm trusting it to call out when temp falls to 45 deg. as advertised.
    BRIAN -- wyndmoor, PA   12/15/2005
very easy to set up.. this is important..worked as stated.. I set the call-out # to a cell phone; the voicemail only got 1 or 2 words before message ended..the instructions should cover this situation which can be overcome by using the pause function at end of dialed # to hold off message.
