Overview

  • Calls up to three phone numbers to alert you if temperature drops or power fails
  • Call in to check on temperature and power status and change settings remotely
  • Customize your message to your preferred wording

Essential Info

Keeping a close eye on your home doesn't have to involve an expensive security system. Monitor the inside temperature and the power with a sensor that will call you to alert you if the temperature dips to a dangerous level or if the power goes out for any length of time. The Intermediate Freeze Alarm uses your existing telephone line to call three phone numbers when the temperature drops below the set point you determine or if the power goes out. You can even call in to check on your home remotely, changing settings from your cell phone. The Intermediate Freeze Alarm is powered by an AC adapter and requires a 9-volt battery (sold separately) as a backup.

What's Included

  • Freeze Alarm
  • Phone cord
  • Remote sensor
  • Power cord
  • Instructions
  • More Info

Place the Intermediate Freeze Alarm anywhere in the home or business to be monitored, plug the included phone cord into a convenient jack, and plug the sensor into a standard wall jack. This sensor will not interfere with your existing telephone or power service, although it is not compatible with PBX or other multi-line business phone systems. In the event of a temperature dip or a power outage, the Intermediate Freeze Alarm will call the numbers you program, continuing to call until the alert is canceled.

The Intermediate Freeze Alarm plays your pre-recorded, customized voice message of up to 20 seconds to the person answering the call or to an answering machine. If the alarm isn't canceled, the Intermediate Freeze Alarm will immediately contact the second programmed number, followed by the third if it still isn't canceled. This cycle will continue after the amount of time you specify, either 15 minutes or 2 hours.

In addition to receiving alerts, you can also call in to check on your home. After a selectable number of rings, the Intermediate Freeze Alarm will pick up, letting you enter your security password to check on the current temperature, power status and battery status. You can also remotely change any of the program menu settings, including the call-to phone numbers if desired. You can even continue to use your existing answering machine or voicemail at the monitored location.

The Intermediate Freeze Alarm can also be used to alert you if the temperature rises above a temperature you specify. For those who leave pets at home during the day, this is helpful during the summer months if you wish to monitor your air conditioning.

For top-of-the-line control, use the Deluxe Freeze Sensor. This advanced unit will connect to your existing heating system for remote temperature control and will send situation-specific messages depending on the problem detected.

The freeze alarm was relatively easy to set up and test. Too soon to tell much more, but OK so far.
    ROBERT -- washington, NH   10/27/2011
Worked as advertised. Very easy to install. Easy to test.
    KATHLEEN -- chandler, AZ   10/18/2011
I found this very easy to install and use.
    WILLIAM -- rye, NH   3/13/2011
The product performs as advertized. Easy to set up with a touch tone phone. Easy to test. The remote access feature works fine with an answering machine connected as described in the instructions. I would recommend the product to anyone who wants peace of mind relating to monitoring temperature and power at a remote location.
    GREG -- tacoma, WA   2/12/2011
Easily installed, programmed, and tested. Working well. We've called in to check temperature and status several times and the unit is functioning perfectly. Great customer service on the order.
    AUDREY -- littleton, CO   2/5/2011
The directions for programming and using this device are very hard to follow. I spent close to an hour reading and then programming the phone, then proceeded to testing the device. At this point the instructions seemed illogical - or at least didn't make sense to me. So I've yet to activate the alarm.
    JOHN -- liberty, MO   1/23/2011
works perfect easy to set up
    TIMOTHY -- richville, MN   1/3/2011
Very easier friendly in setting it up. Directions were concise.
    DAVID -- roseville, MN   12/30/2010
I purchased two Intermediate Freeze Alarms and have been using them for two months. Pro) Easy to install and use thanks to clear instructions. Con) One of my sensors reports that the temperature is about eight degrees higher than the actual room temperature. The other temp sensor is pretty accurate.
    MIKE -- gardner, IL   3/24/2010
Easy to program- Arrived promptly- Hopefully never really have to use it... works on both temp rise and fall- Installed in a large 3 door freezer
    H BLAKE -- boulder, CO   1/15/2010
Exactly as advertised. No suprises with easy set up. Telephone menu is easy and detailed.
    ANGEL -- bronx, NY   1/11/2010
Shortly after installation, the freeze alarm notified us about a frost condition and saved our pipes from bursting more importantly lots of money on emergency repairs.
GREG -- saint louis, MO   1/8/2010
Unit was purchased to monitor my fathers house, 120 miles away, while he is receiving nursing home care. It was easy to install and the set up instructions made sense and were easy to complete. Thankfully have not had a freeze issue but the test procedure went as it should and it made all the call outs. I needed some peace of mind that there were no issues at his house without making the 1 1/2 hour trip to check on it in person.
    FRANK -- stoneham, MA   12/13/2009
installation was easy and the alarm paid itself off 5 days after the installation.
    JOANNE -- allendale, NJ   2/23/2009

    JOHN -- pelham, NH   1/8/2009
    Good
GAYLE -- grand rapids, MI   1/4/2009
It was easy to install and the test worked without problem. We have not had an emergency yet, but feel better just knowing the system is there.
    JAMES -- waterford, MI   12/26/2008
Very easy to set up, instructions were complete and easy to follow. Don't have any experience with with how it works, hope I don't need to find out, but in speaking with someone who has one they are very pleased and have testified that it in fact does alert them to problems.
    BRIAN -- newton, MA   12/22/2008
    Works as expected. Great product!
    JAMES -- palmer, AK   10/17/2008
Easy to set up and test. I like the way it will give a report on current conditions by calling it at any time.
