Essential Info
The Sunforce Products 60120 8.5 Amp Pro Series Charge Controller protects your battery from being overcharged by your solar panel array. Sunforce Products ProSeries line of solar charge controllers are designed for high performance. They include temperature compensation and reverse polarity protection. Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) of a power source involves controlling the amount of power sent to the load. PWM constant-voltage regulation prevents heating and excessive battery gassing. Pulse charging restores full battery capacity. Charge controllers with PWM enable the solar panels to operate at the same voltage as your battery bank during charging optimizing the life of your batteries. The PWM and Boost Charging are for more efficient solar power systems and help maintain the life of your batteries. The 8.5 Amp ProSeries Charge Controller has 2 LED indicators. The green LED indicates when the battery is full and the yellow LED indicates when the battery is charging.

Safety Functions Battery reverse polarity: If the battery is connected with reverse polarity by accident, the regulator will not get damaged. Solar array reverse polarity: An electronic fuse protects the regulator if the array is connected with reverse polarity. Recommendations for Use: The regulator does not need any maintenance or service. Remove dust with a dry tissue. It is important that the battery gets fully charged frequently (at least monthly). Otherwise the battery will be permanently damaged. A battery can only be fully charged if not too much energy is drawn during charging. Keep that in mind, especially if you install additional loads. The 8.5 Amp ProSeries Charge Controller has a maximum input of 127.5 Watts from a solar array. The 8.5 Amp ProSeries Charge Controller is designed for a 12 volt system only. 12 volt nominal output solar panels should be connected in parallel to keep the voltage at 12 volts. Each Solar Charge Controller has a blocking diode installed within the wiring to prevent reverse current, so you can use the battery when the 8.5 Amp ProSeries Charge Controller is connected. The 8.5 Amp ProSeries Charge controller will not be damaged if the battery or solar panels are connected incorrectly by accident. However, if connected incorrectly the system will be unable to function so please remember to connect the system with the correct polarity.
