The Niles RS6 6 Inch High Performance Rock Loudspeaker, Coral is built to withstand all the stresses that Mother Nature can impose upon an outdoor loudspeaker. It has been the subject of and passed some of the most stringent environmental tests created such as a 24-hour submersion test after undergoing 5 years worth of temperature cycling. The speaker has also passed military standard 883 test requirements for Storage Temperature, Operating Temperature, Salt Fog, UV Exposure and Humidity.
The Coral Rock Speaker uses a 1 Inch Teteron tweeter which utilizes a tri-laminate design. This allows the speaker to provide a clean and clear sound much superior to that of past rock speakers which used a co-axial tweeter design. The tweeter is precisely placed at an angle of 20° up from the woofer so that the music is aimed at the listener rather than the ground.
This Coral Rock Speaker incorporates Niles’ GeoRealistic
™ design which gives the speaker its unique textures and colors. These textures and colors are based off of those from natural rocks so that once integrated into your yard the only thing that will be noticed is the flawless sound.
We recommend an amplifier with a power rating of 10 to 150 watts per channel for optimum performance. Outdoor speakers typically require more power than indoor speakers. The outdoor environment is usually noisier and has less reflective surfaces to make the system sound louder. Therefore, the use of a higher power amplifier is recommended.
