The Niles Audio DS7FX 7-inch Surround Effects In-Ceiling / In-Wall Speakers were designed for 5.1 and 7.1 channel home theater systems for the rear and side channels - or for multi-channel audio systems. The Directed Soundfield (DS) woofer pivot mechanism enables the speaker to direct the sound to optimum the listening area. A glass fiber woofer cones and dual Teteron tweeters on a multi-axis array provide ultra-realistic surround sound effects. The 7-inch woofer cone was designed for improved dynamics, smoother sound and less peaking at high frequencies. The1-inch tweeters pivot independently of the woofer to provide additional control of the sound, offering an ultra-wide dispersion and smooth high frequency response. The speakers also feature a Diffuse / Direct switch to create spacious surround sound that optimally envelopes the listener. Use the Diffuse setting for movies and general music listening since most films are mixed using non-localized surround effects and music is usually recorded in a favorable acoustic environment. Use the Direct setting for discrete multi-channel recordings that equally emphasize front and surround sounds. For 7.1-channel surround sound systems, use the Diffuse setting on the side effects loudspeakers and the Direct setting for the rear effects loudspeakers. To complete a 5.1 or 7.1 channel surround sound system, the DS7FX is designed for use with Niles Audio DS7HD, DS7PR or DS7MP left, center, right channel speakers.

Please Note: DS Series speakers from Niles are designed for an in-ceiling (ceiling mount) installation as their primary application, but can be used for an in-wall (wall mount) application as well.
