If you plan to install a home theater system with sound in multiple rooms, give it a professional finish with this pair of Niles Audio CM750FX In-Ceiling / In-Wall speakers. Each speaker has a dual voice coil design which provides left and right channel stereo sound form a single speaker, ideal for use in separate areas. A 7-inch injection-molded TCC (Talc, Carbon, and Ceramic-filled) woofer is rigid to reduce breakup, lower distortion and provide enhanced bass response. The woofer is light, strong and damped, with a full 7-inch size that fits in the same size outer dimensions as most other 6 1/2-inch woofers. An integrated woofer/baffle setup allows for increased woofer surface area, delivering more bass in less space with greater dynamic range. The butyl rubber surround increases sensitivity while preserving strength of sound. The dual 1" pivoting fluid-cooled Teteron tweeters provide wide dispersion for clear and detailed high frequency sounds from both the left and right channels at opposing angles to preserve stereo separation. Additonally, there are adjustable dipole/bipole and effects level controls that make it easy to enjoy optimum room matching. Constructed of high-impact ABS, this pair of speakers is extremely durable, featuring weather resistant material and a UV (ultraviolet) additive to resist the "yellowing" that can occur over time when exposed to sunlight - which reduces installation limitations and provides unique solutions in moist environments or outdoors under eaves. Included are a pair of paintable flush-mount aluminum grilles that are acoustically transparent and let sound pass through for a clean, discrete installation. The Niles Audio CM750FX 7-inch surround effects in-ceiling / in-wall speakers are ideal for handling up to 125 Watts (each) of power from a stereo or amplifier. If your home theater doesn't offer that much power, or you don't need pivoting tweeters, take a look at the Niles Audio CM710FX speakers (75 Watts each). Please Note: CM Series speakers from Niles are designed for an in-ceiling (ceiling mount) installation as their primary application, but can be used for an in-wall (wall mount) application as well. Installation
These speakers are designed to be installed in any standard ceiling. There are two considerations for placing your speakers; ease of running the cable to the loudspeaker and coverage of the loudspeaker. The best stereo effect will be achieved if both the loudspeakers are at equal distance from the listener and closer together than the listener is from the loudspeakers. Avoid installing the loudspeakers near corners to prevent a 'boomy' or diffracted sound. CM700 series speakers will cover an area of a circle with a 16-foot diameter when mounted at an 8-foot height.
Running Wire in Walls or Ceilings
When running speaker wire inside walls or ceilings, use special jacketed cable (a minimum of 18 to 16-gauge two-conductor CL-2 or CL-3 rated loudspeaker wire) to protect the wire and for fire prevention. In some areas, conduit is also required. For a trouble-free installation, low-voltage wire such as loudspeaker wire must be run in accordance with the National Electrical Code and any applicable provisions of the local building code. If you are unsure of the correct installation techniques, wire jacket, or type of conduit to use, consult a professional audio/video installer, building contractor, or the local building and inspection department.
