Essential Info
The Niles Audio C5-RF Cat-5 Cable TV / Antenna Balun is designed to take transmit a CATV signal to and from one balun to another over extended distances via Cat. 5 twisted pair cabling. This setup requires the use of two baluns, each featuring two sets of simple connections. A female F connector is used for the line RF CATV signal, while a shielded Cat. 5 cable connector is used for the Cat. 5 twisted pair connection. The component-style housing has been built with durable metal with pre-drilled mounting holes that will accommodate vertical or horizontal installation. A power supply is not required as the circuitry is passive. Many of today's homes have a large amount of twisted pair cabling, in which case, using a pair of these baluns eliminates the need to do a wire retrofit, allowing you to run Cable TV and Antenna Signals in an area you otherwise might not.
