Essential Info
Rough-in kits are designed to be used to insure that the drywall is cut to the correct size and in the proper location for your in-wall speakers. For use with Mitek's 6.5-Inch In-Wall 2-Way Speakers, these rough-in frames are available for use in new-construction homes. The Rough-In Kit for 6.5-inch In-Wall Speakers can be put in place prior to drywall's installation. Each bracket is quickly and easily assembled between wall studs. A pair of rough-in frames is included in this kit; speakers are sold separately.

The Rough-In Kits can be nailed, screwed or stapled to the studs. They will span 16-inch and 24-inch studs on and off center. These rectangular frames can be mounted either vertically or horizontally. In addition, each bracket includes a small tooled-in loop for securing the speaker wire during the pre-wire process.
Attach the two mounting wings to the loop using the included hardware. Position the assembled Rough-In Kit in the speaker location you desire, and then nail, screw or staple the wings to the studs, using at least two attachments per wing. Attach the pre-wired speaker wire to the wire loop, and then follow the outside of the ridge as a guide for cutting through the drywall.
