The Lutron PICO Wireless Remote Controller, MRF2-2B-L, was just the thing for my parent's kitchen nook light. Before there was a Lutron dimmer on one wall with a companion switch on an opposite wall with a patio door. The curtain for the patio door covered the companion switch. My parents didn't really use the dimmer as a dimmer. They would turn the light on or off all the way. We were going to have an electrician place a new switch out from behind the curtain, about a two foot distance, but that meant he'd have to open the wall enough to drill through at least one stud,(turns out there were three spaced about six inches apart). Then we'd have to have the wall patched, textured, and painted. But the PICO wireless remote provided a handier solution. I changed out the old dimmer with a Lutron wireless switch. I removed the companion switch and wired the output of the wireless switch through to the nook light, then place a blank wall plate over the junction box. I then mounted the Lutron PICO wireless remote on the wall out from behind the curtain using the Luttron wall faceplate adaptor, and used the face plate from the companion switch for the PICO remote control. Everything worked find and my parents have an on-off switch which they prefer over the dimmer. They don't have to reach behind the curtain when they want to turn on or off the light when near the patio door, saving a bit of effort and keeping the curtain from getting grungy. Plus we didn't have to tear into the wall.
