Essential Info
The Lutron Maestro Occupancy Sensor with Dimmer Switch saves electricity by having lights turn on and remain on while a room is occupied and automatically shut off when it isn't. This combination light switch combines the elegance and technological sophistication of Maestro controls with the energy savings and superior performance of an occupancy sensor. It provides full range dimming and is the perfect solution for adding hands-free motion sensor control to automatically illuminate bathroom areas of your home. At the same time, it is a simple, energy efficient way to ensure a light is never left on for a long time, saving electricity. To dim a light from more than one switch location, pair a Maestro Occupancy Sensor with Dimmer Switch with a companion dimmer switch, sold separately, and you can control a single light from up to 10 locations, the perfect combination for controlling the lights at either end of the staircase or at both entrances to a room. The Lutron Maestro Occupancy Sensor with Dimmer Switch has a very sleek, aesthetically pleasing design. Coordinate using Lutron Claro Wallplates, sold separately. For areas of your home where the dimming feature of this switch is not necessary, an on/off style Maestro Occupancy Sensor Switch is also available. Lutron’s occupancy (motion) sensors are passive infrared (PIR) sensors that automatically control lights. These sensors detect the heat from occupants moving within an area to determine when the space is occupied. The sensors then control the lights automatically turning them off or on, providing convenience and increased energy savings.

Programming Features: Timeout - The approximate time in minutes after which the lights will go out after the last motion is detected. The default time delay is 5 minutes but can be adjusted to 1, 3, 15, or 30 minutes. Typically, a shorter timeout should be used in a smaller room or a location where the duration of stay is small. Conversely, a longer timeout should be used in a larger room or a location where the duration of stay is long. The default time delay is 5 min. Off Warning - This unit has an off warning setting that will dim the lights by 50% to warn the occupants the lights will turn off in 30 seconds. This feature is enabled by default but can be disabled if desired. Sensor Sensitivity - The sensitivity of the sensor can be adjusted based on the expected level of activity in the room. The sensitivity setting is high by default and will perform best for most applications. Rarely if the sensor is placed near external sources such as heating and cooling vents, it may turn the lights on without occupancy. If this occurs, changing the sensitivity to low should resolve the problem. The default setting is high sensitivity. Auto-On Feature - When enabled, the lights will turn on when motion is detected. You may wish to disable this feature in an area such as a bedroom. This feature is enabled by default. Please Note: Features can be changed in Programming Mode.
Other Features: Sensor automatically turns lights off when room is unoccupied Use manual or preset dimming control to reduce the energy used by the lights (dimmer only) Easily set-up occupancy sensor to require manual-on operation Enhances convenience, ambience and décor Precise light level control with a dimmer allows you to provide the right light for any activity Sleek, unobtrusive occupancy sensor adds energy saving functionality without sacrificing style Exclusive Lutron XCT technology in occupancy sensors detects fine motions of room occupants Lights automatically turn on to the level at which they were last used when the occupancy sensor activates the lights XCT technology XCT, exclusively from Lutron, is a new occupancy-sensing technology with a refined sensitivity to detect subtle movements in a space. By detecting fine motions, like typing or reading, XCT ensures lights operate when the space is occupied.
