works great but needs to be on a hard surface, carpet will push the bowl upward to bind up with the internal feeder door.

The feeder is easy to assemble and program, and it distributes the food at the proper time and quantity (up to 3 times a day, 1/4 cup to 2 cups). The clear plastic food bin is thin and a little on the cheap side, but the rest of the unit seems well made and I haven't experienced any problems. One thing of note: within 24 hours my cat figured out how to stick a paw up the chute and release a few kibbles of the next-scheduled portion. He apparently does that throughout the day until the entire portion has been distributed, then at the scheduled feeding little if nothing comes out. However the chute is reset with another portion, which my cat then spends the next several hours fishing out, a couple kibbles at a time. Keeps him occupied, perhaps stimulates the brain, and requires him to wait and work for his food, much like in the wild. Probably not a bad side effect.

These contraptions are a great idea but my uber smart, super hyper cat figured out how to break in and get more food within 3 minutes of unpacking and filling the feeder. All she had to do was reach up and spin the release mechanism to get the next portion of food. Then, when it was time for the next feeding, only a little would trickle out because she had emptied the reservoir. I returned mine and purchased the 5 portion feeder which is working great.

price is right, less than 10 mins to assemble, has worked perfectly from the git-go. most important, our two cats love it!

My cats were too smart for these feeders. Also, I would suggest having them remade because food would just come out at unprogrammed times and the opening is too easy for cats to get their paws up into them. Need to make the opening where the food comes out a litter better made and also so extra food doesn't come out at unnecessary times. One other thing, I do not like the fact that when you return your items for a refund that you do not get any cost of shipping back. I didn't get what any shipping refund back for when I purchased the products, nor when I had to return them. This will probably deter me from ordering again.

The feeder dispenses 3 meals. You must program in the minimum 1/4 cup. Food seems to dribble out at any good vibration.

The feeder works great, everything that I had hoped for and now my cats sit and wait when they know it's time to be fed!

The product was on back order for a very long time. It performs well but is difficult to adjust the feeder settings.

When the order finally got here, it was excellent. However, it did take over a month. Yet and still, Smarthome was at least explicit about when it expected to have the item in stock again and alerted me the moment it was sent. I also have great access to tracking information. The product it self...is a life saver! It works like a dream!
