If you use the original CatGenie 60 Self-Cleaning Litter Box or the CatGenie 120 Self-Cleaning Litter Box for a maintenance-free, odor-free, and germ-free cat environment, you'll need to replace its Washable Granules every four to six months. These cat-safe granules never need changing, just replenishment. The CatGenie Washable Granules satisfy a cat's need to dig and cover. It is made of a dust free, non-toxic combination of natural and synthetic biodegradable materials that will degrade in septic systems within 9 months.

The SaniSolution dispenses the exact amount of cleaning solution needed to clean the CatGenie Washable Granules and to keep the CatGenie running properly. Cat genie won't work without the granules. However, they are carried by the cats all over the house. They require a constant cleanup.
