It would be helpful if proper instructions are given on how it should be used in different house environments as in homes without large compounds.
    GISELLE -- brooklyn, NY   8/12/2010
Simple - This product does not work. A waste of money.
    MARVIN W -- sanford, NC   3/23/2010
Had bought an early model and it died after about a year. Did a good job though so I bought two more. It does keep the CATS off of my CAR!!!
    Raul -- Mexico   2/22/2009
It works very good. Few cats don't get scare with this device, but the most of them yes. It helps my to keep my yard free of my neighbor's cats.
    BRIAN -- novato, CA   6/28/2008
I bought two of these - they work great on stray cats but do nothing for racoons(!) They both used up the batteries much fast than listed so I moved them to a place where they may not get false activations as much. They work as advertised. I'd have given 5-stars if the batteries didn't burn out in three weeks.
    ALAN -- toronto, ON   6/20/2008
Not an overly effective gadget to keep pests away. Works on wandering cat, but not on less desirable animals such as raccoons and wild squirrels. We have to consider other animal repelling devices for our garden.
    Vito A --    12/11/2007
This product does not work!!! I bought 4 of them and tested them all. I had a cat walk right up to the unit and rub his face agaist a corner of it while it was working (the LED showed it was working).
NATASHA -- west hempstead, NY   11/9/2007
the catspot does not work. the cats are still defecating in my flower beds!
JACK -- bainbridge island, WA   10/18/2007
Lost all of our fish. Didn't work. Didn't repel anything. A waste of money. It's a fraud.
Richard -- castro valley, CA   9/4/2007
I have to agree with the reviewer who questioned the longevity of these devices. I've purchased several, and most are no longer operable. First, the identification light stops working, and then it stops making the sound. For $50+ a pop, they need to last a little longer than 6 months.
    FRANK L -- commack, NY   8/24/2007
    so far so good
    W J -- markham, ON   6/30/2007
    very good product
Irv Rosen -- dumont, NJ   6/28/2007
I bought three last year. They only lasted four months before one would not turn on and the other two would not turn off. Very pricy junk made in China. The cats were not bothered by it either! Save your money and ignore this product like the cats ignored it.
    LOVELL -- houston, TX   6/20/2007
    ROBERT -- danbury, CT   3/29/2007
    Excellent, Keeps the cats out....
    JAMES -- henderson, NV   3/15/2007
I had a problem with a neighbors cat going into my garden to take a dump. Since I have installed the animal repeller, he has not returned. I saw at one location since I installed the unit where the can came down the wall into the garden and he apparently turned right away around and left. Have not seen any new paw prints since. I would definately purchase this product again.
DONALD -- santa rosa, CA   11/29/2006
Had to find a location that would cover the area that needed proction. The situation is a sandbox in a preschool area where the neighborhood cats started to congrate and using the very convienient large sandbox. The cats do not conviene here now. Some were seen pacing outside the fenced area. They were using the sandbox during school sessions, not afraid of the ongoing activity.
    THOMAS -- sunnyvale, CA   11/15/2006
So far, so good with this device. The cats don't seem to like it at all. As a special added bonus, racoons and ravens don't seem to like it much either! At first, it ate batteries, but I think that was because I didn't "zero" the product properly. It works best if you install the battery after the unit is anchored into the ground, and let it run its test-cycle with the exptected field of view. The false-triggers decrease drammatically, and the battery lasts a lot longer.
    MARK -- orlando, FL   11/6/2006
Has trouble dealing with Florida humidity. Responds much more slowly during the summer. I have my first unit located out in the open to protect my flower garden. Units two and three will be mounted on the house so that the overhang will keep most of the rain off of the unit. Maybe future units will have the ability to send information via wireless link to a PC for data collection and placement optimization. Wish this unit could also fend off armadillos.
