The Scat Mat emits a mild, harmless static pulse when your pet touches it, so pets quickly learn which areas of your home they need to avoid. The Scat Mat has three intensity levels, and it works for any size dog or cat. Pets can learn quickly which areas of your house they're not allowed to go. This clear mat won't interrupt your décor and is flexible, so it will contour to any surface. Its static-type deterrence provides a startling, unpleasant pulse that your pet will associate with an area, not with you, so even when you're not at home, your dog or cat will be taught to avoid certain spots, such as your couch, your car hood, or even certain rooms: the large Scat Mat can be placed in a doorway to prevent entry to a baby's room or the kitchen.

The Scat Mat consists of a power pack and a vinyl mat with embedded wires and is powered by a 9-volt alkaline battery (sold separately). When triggered, the action indicator light will blink the number of times it has been activated.
