The Scraminal uses heat and motion sensors to detect pets as they enter off-limit areas. Simply place the animal deterrent unit facing the area you do not want your pet to go. Each time your pet ventures into this area, the unit emits a series of short, high-pitched (audible to humans) beeps which are uncomfortable to your pet. The unit automatically resets to guard against the next intrusion. Your pet will eventually learn to keep out of that area. 9-Volt battery included.

"Product arrived on time. I have used it now for several weeks and find it completely successful in keeping animals out of spaces I don't want them. I put the alarm in place and walked the animals to the area I wanted avoided and pulled them back saying "No". Then I set the alarm and walked them toward the space. When the alarm sounded I said "no!" and pulled them out of the space. That set the pattern to leave the area when they heard the alarm. The alarm has two levels of sound. I used the higher level as I have two high energy dogs. If I am home while training I emphasize the effects of the alarm with a "NO". Once animals are trained you can lower the level so it isn't so disagreeable. Turn the device off when you have company or want to use the area yourself or you will get a surprise alarm. I am very happy with the device. I can see that someone who doesn't take the time to introduce the device and introduce the appropriate response, to leave the alarm area, might not get the perfect result. I love the device. I work for a U.S. Embassy and cannot let my pets ruin the furniture provided by the Embassy, but in the climate I am in it's not practical to shut the doors to rooms like the dining and living rooms." - SARAH J - APO, AA
