I have about ten of these Scraminals in different positions around the house. They keep the cats out of rooms I would rather not have them in, and also, they are absolutely the best way to discourage unwanted marking behavior. They do not work to well on dogs, at least not on mine, however, they work very well indeed on cats. My cats will not go near them, or the rooms that are protected by them. I have used Scraminals for years and would not be without them. All they require is a new battery periodically and can be used just about anywhere. I always recommend them to anyone that has a problem with their cat. Scraminals are the greatest!

Works when I remember to set it! Would like something with a little more versitility, but over all ... The Scraminal has saved the front blinds!

not what i wanted the audible is not supossed to be load but a frequincy humans cant hear and our animals just look at it and walk by

I had high hopes for a product that would keep my dog from grabbing things on counters, table tops, etc. The vet recommended this product as a way to correct the dog, without the dog seeing you as the source of the correction. That way the effect would not depend on your being present to stop the undesired action. The Scraminal was totally ineffective for this purpose. To point out a few problems: 1) This device emits a LOUD audible signal - enough to really bother human ears, but it didn't really have any effect on my dog. 2) There's no way to set Scraminal up "secretly". As soon as you turn Scraminal on, it starts screeching because you are too close to it. The dog immediately knows that you are the one responsible for the correction. 3) It covers too wide an area. If I set it up on the kitchen counter, for example, it detects motion and screeches whenever anyone enters the kitchen - not very practical. 4) Maybe some animals would be frightened of the noise and stop the undersirable behavior, but certainly not all. My dog grabs the Scraminal and runs around with it in his mouth. All the while, the thing is making its horrible noise. I guess it's a pretty fun toy for him! But as a training device, I rate it a waste of money.

Maybe because the Scraminal is made in China, but the new Scraminals do not operate as efficiently as the two that I've owned for the last 10 years.

Great product, excellent price and fast shipping

not satisfied, sounds like a phone ringing, cats just walk by it with no fear. Bad purchase. No refund available after opened, I'm sure they would all be returned if possible.

The product seems to have the potential to work well in terms of the cats' behavior, but the alarm is inconsistent--sometimes working as it's supposed to but equally often nothing happens when someone crosses in front of it.

product seems to work very well. Very easy to set up and use. We were pleased that Smarthome respectfully exchanged our first defective Scraminal for a new one.

The high pitch noise at first seems too loud, but is effective. The low pitch is too low however. I'm still experimenting, but it does not always go off. Not sure if it's too far away from couches or if it's the product. Overall, better than most products out there
