Essential Info

Protect your home from strays and rodents while allowing your pet free access with the Electromagnetic Pet Door. Pet door liner suits hollow and solid doors up to 2 ¼" thick. The pet door automatically unlocks and allows your cat or small dog to push through the flap when it senses the magnetic key on your pet’s collar. All other animals will encounter a locked flap. The kit comes with 2 magnetic collar keys; extra magnetic keys are available. Uses a9-volt battery (not included).

    The Electromagnetic Pet Door features a silent action transparent weatherproof flap. Three additional settings allow you to lock the pet door, allow your pet to enter but not exit or allow your pet to exit but not enter again. The door opens only for pets wearing magnetic keys on collar so you can keeps out strays.

    I bought one of these to try out for our two cats who spend a lot of time in and out of the barn when we are away. We tried it for three weeks and with a bit of effort the cats learned to use it. The only problem we had was that it stuck so far out of the sliding barn door that it is an issue when we open/close the door. We put it where an existing hole was. Other than that, it works great. The strays that were eating their food are locked out! We are so happy that I just bought two more so the cats can go in and out of all the outbuildings, keeping mice down, and giving them extra hidey-holes. Great product so far.

    At first I thought this would cure the raccoons coming in through my "other" cat door. Soon after installing it the raccoons discovered how to open the door in the direction the cat uses when she goes out. A locking device for going both in and out would have been the answer.

    I was afraid the cat wouldn't learn, but we shoved him through a few times with it unlocked. We waited a few days before turning on the lock. He got it after a few hours. It works great, and we no longer have a kitty party in our kitchen every night. Great product, great price.

    I had a strange cat coming into my house. I purchased the electronic cat door, and it has eliminated other animals from coming into my house. I used a battery eliminator, and it works great. The only problem I had is once in a while, my cat will have a screw attached to the magnet. I had a bowl of ice cream that my cat tried to sneak a couple of licks in, until the spoon became attached to the collar. That will probably be the last time my cat eats ice cream. Excellent product. Thank you.

    The doors work great for our indoor cats, though they are still getting used to wearing collars. Great to keep the dogs out of the laundry/cat food room!

    Works fine. Cats figured it out very quickly. Of the three cats we have one that for some reason can come in fine but will not go out. I think it is because one of the other cats sits outside the door and won't let him leave. Door works fine.

    The product leaks air. It is not suitable for going outdoors. It is the only product of its kind out there, so keep it in your catalog (but note that it is not air-tight).

    My cats were afraid of it at first. The clicking noise of the magneet unlocking scared them. Also, they used to open the door with their paws, so going through this one head first was a new and difficult task to get used to. But after a couple of weeks and lots of training they can now successfully use the door. I am happy because I no longer have other wild creatures coming in. Thanks!

    After having trouble with an automatic pet feeder made by the same company, I was a little reluctant to order this pet door, but thanks to all the good reviews, I did anyway. This magnetic operated door works perfectly. It installed with no trouble, and our 4 month old kitten, who had never used any pet door, started using it immediately. Note: I did have to raise my porch deck so it was level with the house-door threshold to facilitate the pet-door lock actuation and easier access for this small cat. The sizable collar key has been no burden to our kitten, and the minimal debris it collects is easily removed. I wish there was an AC adapter jack, but hardwiring one in should be no trouble to eliminate worrying about a weak battery leaving your cat locked out. I highly recommend this well engineered device.
