The Drinkwell Additional Reservoir is easy to install. The base which supports the refill container has two tabs which hook over the rear wall of the bowl at the back of the fountain. After placing the fountain in the desired location, hook the two tabs of the base over the rear wall of the fountain. The base must be properly attached to avoid any spillage when the refill container is added. Fill the refill container with water.
Check the lid to make sure the black O ring is in place, then screw the lid onto the container. Hold the container over the base with the spout away from the fountain. Quickly turn it upside down and slip the lid's spout into the rear cut-out area of the bowl (where the base is attached).
