If you already own or plan to purchase a Drinkwell Pet Drinking Fountain this 70 ounce reservoir is an excellent accessory. The container provides an additional 8.75 cup capacity; together with the fountain making a total of 14.75 cups. Extra water is great if you have multiple pets, a super-thirsty pet, or just want peace of mind when you take short trips. It attaches easily at the rear of the fountain, conveniently keeping the fountain bowl filled longer, so you don't need to add water as often. This product ONLY works with the original Drinkwell Pet Drinking Fountain, it does not work with the Drinkwell Platinum Pet Fountain or the Big Dog Drinking Fountain. Also available as a 50 ounce reservoir, sold separately.

The Drinkwell Additional Reservoir is easy to install. The base which supports the refill container has two tabs which hook over the rear wall of the bowl at the back of the fountain. After placing the fountain in the desired location, hook the two tabs of the base over the rear wall of the fountain. The base must be properly attached to avoid any spillage when the refill container is added. Fill the refill container with water. Check the lid to make sure the black O ring is in place, then screw the lid onto the container. Hold the container over the base with the spout away from the fountain. Quickly turn it upside down and slip the lid's spout into the rear cut-out area of the bowl (where the base is attached).
