If you already own or plan to purchase the Dogtek EF-4000 Electronic Dog Fence with Wireless Collar you'll enjoy the benefits of a modern and highly effective system that allows you to restrict your dog's play area by a perimeter that you define. The EF-4000 Electronic Dog Fence includes one spool of boundary wire, which will cove approximately 1/6 of an acre. This spool will provide you the ability to cover a larger area. The EF-4000 has been designed to give you complete satisfaction with boundary wire with a maximum length of 450 yards (equivalent to one 2.5 acre). If a longer antenna wire is used, the EF-4000 will still work, but the warning and impulse zones will be reduced. The green polyethylene jacket provides excellent physical protection as well as static and oxidation resistance and it is burial approved.

Approximate Wire Needed per Acre*

1/6 Acre = 1 spool (330 feet)

1/2 Acre = 2 spools (660 feet)

1.4 Acre = 3 spools (990 feet)

2.5 Acre = 4 spools (1320 feet)

* Please keep in mind that 1 spool is included with the EF-4000 Electronic Dog Fence. All these are estimates based upon a square lot, but should be fairly accurate regardless of the shape of your property. Remember you'll need additional wire for interior or garden loops and to make the connection between the transmitter and perimeter loop.
