Essential Info

Turn any PC or laptop into a television set to watch local and recorded programming, even if your laptop's with you on a business trip on the other side of the world. The Slingbox Pro allows you to watch and control up to three standard definition and one high definition video devices anywhere you go. This compact device connects to your digital cable, DVR, and DVD player and distributes the A/V signal to your LAN (wired or wireless router sold separately). You can even watch the shows you recorded on your TiVo: The Slingbox will connect your DVR, cable and DIRECTV to your LAN for remote viewing on a browser.

Easy Setup

Setting up the Slingbox is simple. Connect the A/V sources to the Slingbox and the Slingbox to the Internet, and then plug the IR emitter into the Slingbox and a source for remote control. Plug in the power adapter and load the SlingPlayer software on your PC. A setup wizard walks you through the setup process, automatically configuring the Slingbox for the devices it's connected to. If you don't have an Ethernet outlet right next to your television, you can add a pair of SlingLink Internet Adapters to send the signal through your electrical wires to location a more convenient to your router.

Turn Your Laptop Into a TV

Connect your laptop to your local network, and you'll be able to access your DVR and cable box for local viewing as well as local control. Watch a DVD with headphones connected to your laptop for late-night entertainment as your spouse sleeps.

Unlimited PC Software Installation

Install the SlingPlayer software on any number of PCs to watch and control your connected devices on your computer. The Slingbox works seamlessly with your existing home theater setup and PC technologies.

Watch Local Shows When You're Out of Town

Add the included software to the laptop you take along on business trips, and you'll be able to access local programming when you're out of town. Turn your hotel room into your living room: By keeping up with your shows and local teams, you'll not only feel more connected to home, you'll be able to spend more quality time with your family when you get home rather than heading straight for the TiVo.

All-Access Pass at No Extra Charge

The Slingbox Pro not only allows you to watch your home television virtually anywhere, but it also allows you to watch any cable subscriptions, special programming, or sports packages you may have — at no extra cost. If it's on your home TV, it's on your computer and phone, with no monthly fees.

Retain Full Control of Connected Device

With the Slingbox Pro you have just as much control over your special programming and component devices (such as TiVo and On Demand) as you do at home. You have the ability to fast-forward, rewind, pause, and everything else under the sun.

Ultimate Connectivity

Connect and control up to four A/V sources. This means you can access your entire home theater, including digital cable, DVD players, TiVo, or any other new-fangled contraption you may have. The Slingbox PRO is HD Component video compatible (up to 1080i) when used with the Slingbox HD Connect Cable (sold separately). The Slingbox and SlingStream technology adapts the compressed video stream to match the available network and Internet bandwidth. This provides the best possible video quality between the Slingbox and the SlingPlayer application, whether running on a computer or mobile phone.

Additional Slingbox Options Available

If you simply want to watch and control a basic analog cable box remotely over your PC, you can save by purchasing the Slingbox Tuner. The Slingbox A/V will let you access and control a single A/V device, including a digital cable box, a satellite receiver, or even a DVR.
