Essential Info

The GE 45609 Z-Wave Wireless Lighting Control On/Off Wall Switch enables wireless control of on/off functions for hard-wired incandescent, LED, xenon, halogen and fluorescent lighting. The on/off switch replaces your current light switch, uses your existing wiring and provides Z-Wave wireless and in-wall control of overhead lighting. The contemporary switch includes a blue LED indicator light to easily locate the switch in a dark room. It features a gloss white finish that matches modern wall plates.

Note: This switch is designed for use only with permanently installed fixtures. The device controlled by this Z-Wave switch must not exceed 600 watts (Incandescent), 15 Amps, 1800W (Resistive), or ½ HP (Motor).

Z-Wave technology is designed to automate lighting/home control products and provide easy remote operation of all your Z-Wave enabled devices. The GE Z-Wave product family includes a variety of devices to control lighting in your home. It is up to you whether you want to control one room or your entire house and whether you want to do it all now or start with one room and add more over time. This switch is one component of a Z-Wave control system and is designed to work with all other Z-Wave enabled devices in a home control network. It will also act as a wireless repeater to insure that commands intended for another device in the network are received, thereby extending the range of the wireless controller. Z-Wave devices of other types and brands can be added to the system and will also act as range extenders if they support this function of repeating the signal received to other nodes in the system.

    Excellent product works great with my ADP PULSE system. I integrated right into my outside light controls. The switch is pulling in a contact. Wires like a normal switch. Its a bit of a tight fit into a box, but it does work well.

    First one I purchased had an issue where the ground screw nut would not tighten and just kept spinning in the housing. Smarthome was GREAT with the RMA process and getting a new one out. The new one installed very well and immediately synced up with my 2Gig security system. NOTE that you do need a neutral line for this switch to work, so you will want to verify that there is one in your junction box before opening the package. I had all neutrals tied together in the box (as all newer homes should), so I just picked up some 14 gauge solid conductor wire, tied into the other neutrals into the box, and connected to this switch. Works flawlessly and looks great. Plan on purchasing about six more of these for the rest of the lower level of the home.

    The GE 45609 Z-Wave Wireless Lighting Control On/Off Wall Switches work great turning my ceiling fans off and on. Now I don't have to get up and turn the ceiling fans on/off, I can just use the remote to do it. Works Great!

    I did not use this item. I returned it because it does not support the encryted Z-Wave signal that Z-Wave locks require.

    NEUTRAL WIRE - had to purchase wire and connect it from the switch to the neutral wire bundle in the junction box and then this would work. I wish the instructions made this clear.

    This might not be a product review but a website review because the product review is not given as offered. I not able to offer any stars to the product but I give the website 1 star. The 5 star display is tactic to allow the review to be seen, 1 star reviews appear as invisible The review view is flawed. The page says 25 reviews 19-5 star, 4-4star, 1-2 star and 1-1 star and offers Read all reviews. After clicking Read All only 12 reviews are offered .. all 5 stars. I am just as interested in reading the 1 & 2 star reviews but they are not offered as implied. The people who have written the web site appear to leave the testing and review of the products up to the purchasers and they have also given the job of tester and evaluator of website functions to the purchaser as well. When did everyone become so casual about checking to see if the work they do produces the results they desire?
