The SteelBEAM Hybrid Lantern from GE is aptly named as it has the ability to switch between fluorescent and LED lighting. The fluorescent bulb is super warm white and rated to last up to 8,000 hours and the 3 LEDs are rated to last up to 30,000 hours. It is powered by 4 D cell batteries (sold separately) which give the lantern up to 16 hours of illumination making it a great product to have around in the event of a power outage. The bulbs are surrounded by a steel cage inside the Hybrid Lantern to provide added protection for them against breaking. It has a rugged weather-resistant ABS construction with stainless steel frame making it suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Built-in to the handle is a hook for convenience so the Hybrid Lantern can be hung for hands-free lighting.
