The GE 18256 Indoor Light-Sensing Screw-In Socket has a built-in photo cell for automatically controlling your lights based on ambient light levels. General Electric's photo cell based lighting controls will automate your lighting in minutes. Photo-sensing lighting controls can save money on energy consumption by turning lights Off when they are not needed. Photo cells detect natural light to turn the attached load On when light levels are low or non-existent, and Off when light is detected. If a dusk/dawn operation is not desired the user can chose from two additional countdown settings. These settings are 1-hour or 6-hours. Besides energy savings this device can be very useful in automating rarely used lighting in closets, commonly used indoor pathway lighting, seasonal or holiday lighting, and security or perimeter lighting. The 18256 Screw-In Socket can operate incandescent loads only, up to 150 Watts.
