Using a wireless speaker system eliminates the hardest part of adding speakers to your home - installing long runs of speaker wire around your home or behind walls. The Acoustic Research (AR) AW827 Portable Wireless Speaker uses an RF signal that travels with ease through walls, floors, ceilings and other obstacles, delivering high quality sound virtually anywhere inside your home or out. With drift-free, static-free reception, along with outstanding range (up to 150 feet) and a weather resistant/outdoor rated design, the possibilities for enjoying this speaker system are endless. It is compatible with nearly all audio sources, such as audio/video (A/V) receivers and amplifiers, stereos, computers, TVs, DVD players, and portable devices such as CD players, cassette players, MP3s etc. Simply connect your audio source to the included transmitter and you can send audio directly to the speaker, wherever you decide to place it. The speaker can be used as a freestanding item (rubber feet protect against scuffs, vibration, and slippage) or, using the included post-top mount plate, you can even mount the speaker securely on top of a standard 4" x 4" post. The system is also expandable, add multiple speakers to enhance your listening experience. The transmitter plugs in, and the speaker is powered by four AA batteries, sold separately.
