All it takes is a few minutes to add a programmable timer to your fluorescent or incandescent lights. Screw this timer into any indoor or outdoor lamp and you'll be able to schedule your light to turn off after 2, 5, or 8 hours. Or you can choose to automatically turn your lights on at dusk and off at dawn, so you can be assured that your lights won't remain on during the daytime. A contact plunger allows you to adjust the photocell as needed for the most direct contact with sunlight.

A random off timer can also change the settings every night to confuse possible intruders. In the event of a power outage, the timer automatically defaults to turn the light on at dusk and off at dawn, so you can be assured that your lights will continue to turn on and off without instant reprogramming.
