This is a great timer for a lamp that never needs any attention. It turns the lamp on automatically every day when the sun goes down. One does not have to program it or continually change the "on" time throughout the year. My only complaint is that it cannot be manually turned off and reset so that it will turn on again the next day. In other words, if the lamp is in an area where the light would bother you after a certain time, there is no means to turn it off early but still have it come on again at sunset the next day. One has to select exactly 2 hours or exactly 4 hours, etc of "on" time. An "over-ride" button would be a big plus.
