Essential Info

Increase home security and let visitors in more easily with these electric door strikes that replace your existing strike plate with an electro-mechanical release mechanism. Wire one in series with a low-voltage push-button switch, an X10 Universal Module or the relay release of an intercom system, and your visitors will be able to push or pull the door open when power is applied. You can also connect them to a keypad, alarm system or other entry system. Requires a 12VDC power supply (sold separately).

    When power is applied to the strike it produces a quiet click, If you are looking for a strike that produces a buzzing noise, try the 8-16VAC Electric Strike.

    Both versions are reversible for left- or right-handed doors. Once installed, the door can still be operated using a key. Both strikes remain locked when un-powered. Polished brass finish. Face dimensions: 1 5/8" x 3 1/2". Case dimensions: 1" x 1 7/8" x 3". To add a door strike to doors with Schlage-brand locks, see our Schlage-Compatible Door Strikes.

    The price refects the quality. Strike is very long, can be a problem if you need to use Left Hand as it can interfere with a deadbolt.

    I bought 3 of these to install in my newly built house. I have had them for over 4 years and haven't had any issues with them.

    Only good for left hand doors (of course all of mine are right hand). You have to turn the unit upside down to mount for different swings and it is so long that it will run into your deadbolt. Requires a great deal of material removal for installation. Use the new Door strike for Schlage instead.
