The BioKnob^™ is a biometric door lock with a thermal fingerprint sensor located at the center of the door knob. An LCD display and key pad provide access to the programming functions. All components of the system are encased within the lock - no external wiring or computer needed. The system is powered by two rechargeable batteries that last approximately 1000 openings on each charge. A warning alerts users when there are about 50 more entries to go. Charging the battery is simple - plug in the AC adapter cable to the lock for about three hours. The BioKnob fits all doors that normally accept door knobs with latches, with thickness of 1 3/8" to 2 1/2".
