Essential Info

Don't run to the Caller ID display every time the phone rings. Let the Classco Talking Caller ID announce the phone numbers for you! You can even record custom name tags in your own voice for 50 of your most frequent callers.The unit can also announce Caller ID numbers through the handset of the attached phone. Just pick up the phone like normal and you'll hear the number of the caller (or the caller's name, if you recorded a voice tag for that number). To take the call, stay on the line for three seconds, or press the "flash" button. If you don't want the call, simply hang up. The caller will only hear a ringing sound and won't even know you picked up the phone. Requires a Caller ID subscription provided by your telephone service provider. The Talking Caller ID uses an AC adapter and also accepts 4 AA batteries (sold separately) as a memory backup in the event of a power outage.

    The Talking Caller ID offers several other features, including a three-line LCD display that lists the name, number and time of call for the last 99 received phone calls. You'll be able to record two custom outgoing messages for two expected callers. You can even program the unit to associate frequent callers with names you record in your own voice (like "Mom & Dad"). Other features include English or Spanish number announcements and a red LED that indicates when someone has called.
    The Talking Caller ID announces "number unknown" or "number locked" for phone numbers that are unknown or have blocked outgoing Caller ID information.

    Plugged the machine in and it worked without any issues. I have a phone and separate answering machine attached to the same line and both of them continued to work as normal. I wish the 9900CW had the ability to block selected numbers but even without that we can now filter phone calls without having to wait until they get to the answering machine. We're very satisfied.

    I've owned one for at least 5 years now and can say that this technology of hearing who is calling as opposed to having to look at a display is invaluable. For those who don't own one of these, understand that the machine doesn't read what is displayed for the person calling but you have to record a name by voice that is played back when that number is called. This is the first reliable piece of electronics of it's kind that I can find that can announce caller ID. The only disadvantage is that it can playback the wrong caller, so it's good to look at the display to verify who is calling before answering the phone.

    Good product. Although function wise, it should repeat the 'caller name' more than once, thus giving more time to stop what your doing and listen to who's calling in.

    The product does what I purchased it to do. It does a fine job of audibly announcing phone calls, storing past calls with date and time stamp, and allowing for individually voice-stamping caller ID's. Easy to install, use, and a very good value.

    I like the ability for the unit to announce who is calling, and then announce to those I don't want to hear from to stop calling. However, I don't understand with the unit having an AC adaptor it doesn't have a simple LED backlight so the display is easy to read day or night. Someone needs to tell the engineers to get with the human thing.

    I had a radio shack caller ID but it didn't talk. What it did do was tell me who was the caller on call waiting...no matter what phone I was using. Sure wish the 9900cw did the same. Now I am looking for another talking caller ID.

    Love this product. I missed it so much when my last one quit working, probably had it 10 yrs., this one doesn't depend on batteries and thats another plus. I like to hear who's calling before I answer without running to the caller id on the phone. I can hear it from anywhere in the house also. I would have paid any amount to have it.
