Essential Info

The Samsung EZON SHS-3120XMK is the slim, elegant solution to your deadbolt needs. Whether you need it for your home or business, the peace of mind provided by a deadbolt is invaluable. This item features access via both keypad and RFID card reader, and provides a number of additional features to boost security levels. With up to 70 possible users and an access override feature, you can set up the SHS-3120xmk to meet any requirement.

Better Security Options
The SHS-3120 includes features that solve many problems of traditional and PIN-style deadbolts. Random security codes prevent wear on commonly-pressed keypad digits and the Nightlock feature allows a person on the inside to prevent access to all parties, even authorized users. The system powers off for three minutes following five invalid password entries, and in the event of a power failure the unit stays locked.

The 70 possible users on the system can be given unique passwords, added or removed individually. The included Magnetic Sensor Automatic Locking Feature locks the door two seconds after you close it, providing an extra level of ease and an added stage of security.

CHECK YOUR BACKSET! The most important thing to consider before you decide to purchase this item is your doors backset. Residential doors usually use a standard backset of 2 3/8 inches which means the distance from the door edge to the center of the lock hole is 2 3/8 inches. Now here's the important part. Commercial exterior doors usually metal use a standard backset of 2 3/4 inches. ***This digital deadbolt uses a commercial backset of 2 3/4*** ***Also stated on the product overview is that Smarthome will not accept return for this product if it is defective. You will have to deal with the manufacturer or supplier directly*** The device itself seems pretty well manufactured aside from the magnetic sensor. The plug on the magnetic sensor is very tiny an fragile. As stated on a previous review, the magnetic sensor has to be positioned as close as possible to the edge of the door. Also the screws provided to secure the indoor unit to the support plate are very tiny so I highly recommend using a hand held screw driver for installation. I would like to see the magnetic sensor incorporated into the deadbolt and strike. Also it would be nice if there was a visual status of the lock and unlock state. Different color options would be cool too. Overall I am very happy with this product.

Excellent!!!

The features of this lock are very cool. As far as the features and the way it performs, its great. Now the downside. The manual stinks. It isn't very clear when it comes to installation. I installed this lock on your typical pre-drilled door you can buy at a big box store. The deadbolt extends out past the door edge, and short of buying a new door, the only thing I could do is cut away the framing. I have this nice expense lock on a hack frame. Not the best presentation. The auto locking feature is awesome, but the sensor they include are not sensitive enough to pick the magnet. Which by the way they fail to even mention in the manual! When mounting the non-mentioned magnet, I had to chisel even deeper into the frame to allow clearance for the deadbolt. I ended up hyper-extending the sensor outside of the lock chassis. Is it because I have a metal door? Perhaps, but still it isn't explained well in the manual. Overall, I consider this lock to be top of the line in features, outstanding in appearance but badly designed and documented. I don't recommend this for anyone doing retro fits, and with metal doors. I doubt I will be buying another.

Needs a remote control so that people with accessible needs can unlock it for themselves or others. That they might not know.

EZ install, very convenient!! Automatic locking saved me when I forgot to lock it!!
