The Caller ID Manager Combo Pack takes that service a few steps further by not only eliminating unwanted calls, but also routing calls to their intended recipients, so you won't even need to listen to a ringing phone unless the call is for you. This fully customizable kit contains everything you'll need to get started on personalizing your Caller ID service for your family.

The Caller ID Manager lets you determine which calls ring into your home. For instance, all calls with blocked caller data can be routed to your answering machine without the phone ringing. Turn this feature off to receive all calls, or choose to receive calls only with available Caller ID information. Using the manager unit, you can create a database of caller information, and then you can even personalize the unit so that only callers in your database can get through.

One of the most convenient features of the Caller ID Manager is that it will route calls to any specific phone attached to a receiver unit, and only that phone will ring. This system will support up to four separate receivers. This kit comes with one; additional receivers are sold separately. This feature can be overridden: Even if only one phone is ringing, any phone can be used to answer the call. Each phone attached to a receiver can even have its own answering machine.

This unit acts as a standard Caller ID display. It will display all incoming call numbers and names if available. The Telephone Manager's processor then uses patented algorithms to evaluate the Caller ID data present with each incoming call. The data is evaluated against the internal database of user preferences.

If you have young children, you can designate time periods when calls will not route to individual rooms. This can also be helpful if you have teenagers in your house. You can even set a time for no phones to ring to be sure your sleep won't be interrupted.

Frequent callers can be given a two-digit pass code to override the system to signal the phone to ring even if no Caller ID is available.

Caller ID is a service provided by your telephone company for a fee. Caller ID is required to take advantage of the Caller ID Manager's services.

Works very well. As mentioned by others, however, you need to hook up your external answering machine to the phone jack and the phone you want to ring to the answering machine jack. The reason is that the screening software will allow almost any combination of routing to the two jacks and the four remote zones except you cannot route a black listed number to only the answer machine jack which is typically what you want to do. You can, however, route the call to only the phone jack and if you plug your answering machine in there, it will work properly. You need to program the answer machine jack to accept all calls in this configuration by using wild cards for each of the 9 digits like they instruct you on their website.

Overall, it's a great product as it does what it says it's suppose to do. A little confusing to use as certain numbers don't appear in the database unless you view it a certain way. I would like a future version to include another option besides phone and ansmach called something like "none". When that is selected, the phone will ring endlessly on the calling party without making a sound. The reason for this request is that I have an alarm system and when there is 20 rings, the alarm picks up and prompts for a login. I wouldn't want rejected callers find out about my alarm system this way. Thank you!

While I cannot deny or confirm if the device actually performed what it claimed, the interface was such a headache. I was not able to figure it out. I read up on it and saw that it was very confusing. Cell phones cost less and do more and have a much better user interface that this device had. This device was fairly large as well so I was expecting it would have even better abilities and user interface than a cell phone which are much smaller and thinner.

This product works well, but the manual is confusing. However, the Web page provided the necessary information and then the product made sense. No telemarketers are getting through.

Excellent product! Some short comings: Needed an external answering machine and had to connect the phone to the answering machine port and the answering machine to the phone port as described by other reviewers for it to work as it logically should. Also, the technique required to program the unit was awkward. However, the interceptor ID has virtually put a stop to all of the scam artists who repeatedly coerce elderly people with memory disabilities to donate money to their false charities. I hope there is a special place in hell for those people. After a year of trouble free, reliable use, the system has been locking up almost daily preventing any calls from coming though. Cycling power resets the unit and it works for a while before locking up again. I can't complain too much, but tech support seems to be unavailable now 10/2008and replacement products are also unavailable. If there is a next generation, I would certainly be interested if the problems/ functionality issues I encountered were addressed and tech support available again.

I had used this product for almost a year and it is truely a blessing! I set up my unit on the " Data Ivite Only Mood " option to only allow 18 ( Family and friends ) calls to come through and finally I'm able to have peace and quiet. Stops all Out Of Area, Unknown Name/Number and using the great option of blocking out all tollfree numbers ( or if you like only certain tollfree numbers ) ...which usually are telemarketers. Anytime you like you can add or remove numbers you want blocked or to ring through. It also has the option of entering a code so in case you have family members who are calling to by pass the Blocked List and are able to connect. Over all a great product !

The Caller ID Manager is a great idea, but I found the device to be not well designed. It appears to be very sensitive to noise on the line, and I never got it to work properly, even with multiple line filters. I was expecting to be able to assign phone numbers to the desired device with only a few button pushes, but the device requires you to cycle through the combinations of outputs sequentially. It took more than a dozen button pushes to find the appropriate destination set. The caller IDs typically left the screen after about 10 seconds, so I rarely was able to get the number properly programmed. I would gladly pay $100 for a similar device that was more user-friendly and less sensitive to noise on the phone line.

The product worked as expected with one exception. I wanted to be able to group the phone and external together with a rounting but this combination was not there. I could group any 2 of the three except those. I compensated by reversing the tape and phone connections and route to the tape and external as a pair to make both phones ring on the same call.

The Caller ID Manager works well with my Vonage (VOIP) solution. This is a well built and tested device. I would offer it to a friend who was having the same everyday calling problems from unwanted callers. This solution in a quick summary, will end your unwanted caller problems forever and allow you to get the calls you want directly to what ever phone you want in your house. You will need to chose the combo pack system with its remote receiver for calls to be forwarded to individual phones. One additional bit of info here, if you have VOIP. You may need to call your VOIP solution provider so that they can turn down the line noise that you may experience before you get a dial tone. This line noise may cause random access issues when interfacing with your ID manager, but in my experience will not prevent the allowed caller database from doing its desinged duty of allowing those calls you want when you want them and preventing those calls you do not want, when you do not want them.
