Essential Info

Now you can enjoy the convenience of a wireless, 3-channel intercom system in your own home with a communication range up to 1,500 feet. The Westinghouse Wireless 3-Channel Intercom System features two interior stations with excellent sound quality and plugs directly into an AC outlet. The units feature a call button to page any other room. This 3-Channel Intercom System communicates via existing AC wires and will block X10 signals during the period that the intercoms are being used. They will not affect X10 operation if they're plugged in but are not transmitting sound.

The Westinghouse 3-Channel Intercom System is wireless and easy to install. With the system's expansive range, you can talk to or monitor any number of rooms in your home or small office with 3 available channels. You can also use the intercom as a baby monitor; just use the "Lock" button for continual audio monitoring of any other unit.

NOTE: Does not work when plugged into a GFI outlet.

    Both the original order for 4 stations did not work properly (had sticking lock keys), but the replacement shipment of 4 stations will not transmit from one side of our house to the other and from the main floor to the basement rooms. Smarthome indicated the most likely problem is different electric circuits in our home. I ask why transmitters depended on house wiring when they were advertised as "wireless". I was told they are not wireless in the sense that they transmit signals through the air, they depend on your house wiring. If you have more than one electric circut in your home they will not work. If I only had one circuit in my home, I would probably not be large enough to require intercoms in the first place.

    We have 2 buildings 5 feet apart, both buildings are concrete, and there is some serious static sometimes on the intercom. You can still here the other person, but, in some cases you have to be right next to the speaker to make out what they are saying.

    Easy to install. Just plug it in! In the house it works well. If you want to use this intercom between two adjacent rooms in the house, I would give this product 4 stars! However for my application, I wanted to talk between my kitchen and a detached garage. The "call" feature works great, but for voice, there is lots of interference and you can barely hear and understand the conversation. I didn't return the intercom because for a quick conversation, like "Dinner is ready" it works, but "crystal clear" like the box says, forget about it.

    Hmm...modestly satisfactory. Easily gets static from computers, other appliances. "Range" of bigger house might be an issue? Would work on one wall in far bedroom, not other wall's plugs. One gets what one pays for it, often in life--true in this situation.

    This Westinghouse 3 Channel Intercom System was a disappointment as compared with my previous old "Command" system whose buttons are wearing out. The new system has the same simple design and easy set up but when plugged into the electrical system of my high-rise condo, the loud overpowering static, feed, and/or carrier background noises caused very garbled not understandable talk and call sounds although the devices work. Since I will use this system to monitor my very ill mother, I can't take the chance of missing a call for assistance or emergency help so I'm returning the entire system and reinstalling the old system. I hope the return policy is as good and as fast as I've heard.

    This is a good system and overall I'm happy with it. The only downside is that visitors must push the "talk" button to speak back to me. Normally when I answer, I hear nothing because they don't know to push the button. I tell them, then they get it, but it's a little inconvenient.
