Essential Info

Surge protectors will defend electrical devices from damage in the event of transient surges, but your electrical devices aren't your only possessions in danger. By installing the Intermatic Hardwired Protector in your home's indoor or outdoor breaker panel, you'll be protecting your AC power as well as up to two telephone lines and a coax line from the surges that can destroy their connected components. The Intermatic Hardwired Protector even carries a 5-year warranty with a $10,000 connected-equipment warranty.

Designed for 120/240 VAC single (split) phase homes, the Intermatic Hardwired Protector installs into a 15- or 20-ampere breaker. This single device will protect AC power, two phone, modem or high-speed data lines, and a coax connection, whether cable or satellite.

The "All Mode" protection configuration provides distinct protection paths between every conductor in the AC electrical system. When installed on service entrance or main panels with a common neutral-ground bus, line-to-neutral and line-to-ground protective circuits are paralleled for redundancy and maximum current capability. On subpanels with separate neutral and ground buses, protection is provided against all possible modes of surge energy with distinct line-to-neutral, line-to-ground, neutral-to-ground and line-to-line protection components.

The Intermatic Hardwired Protector is shipped ready for installation on the right-hand side or top positions of the electrical panel, but it can be mounted on the left with a few minor adjustments. Dedicated circuits monitor each component in each mode and control the operation of each phase LED indicator. Lighted green indicators represent normal power-on and unit operational condition. A red indicator will light up if protection is reduced or lost.

This Intermatic Hardwired Protector will protect two telephone lines and one coax line. An expanded version of this product is available that will protect up to four telephone lines and two coax lines, ideal for homes with multiple phone or data lines as well as both cable and satellite systems in place.
