The Panamax M2-AV Surge Protector is a simple, unobtrusive solution for protecting your home theater components and other electronics from dangerous electrical spikes or surges. The surge protector plugs directly into an available outlet and has two available receptacles for protection of electronic components and one set of coaxial input/output connectors for protection of cable/satellite TV outputs or a cable modem. Built-in Panamax exclusive Protect or Disconnect Circuitry™ safeguards equipment against surges such as a lightning strike, completely disconnecting the AC power to any connected equipment. Additionally, Signal Perfect™ circuitry is optimized and shielded to ensure a clean, clear signal providing better picture and sound quality to your connected home theater equipment. It features solid-state components for maximum protection and reliability while the bandwidth and clamping level are optimized for standard cable or off-air TV signals.

Energy Absorption/Dissipation
This rating, given in joules, tells you how much energy the surge protector can absorb before it fails. A higher number indicates greater protection. Look for a protector that is at least rated at 200 to 400 joules. For better protection, look for a rating of 600 joules or more. The Panamax M2-AV Surge Protector for AC Power and Coaxial Connections is rated at 1350 joules.
