Essential Info
While you may wish to use power from your main equipment rack to run information from your computer network to your home theater system, they're rarely located in the same spot. But with Panamax's Pro Signal Data Module, it all becomes possible. This data module is inserted into one of Panamax's custom-installation devices to protect against surges on both signal and power lines, thus eliminating potential grounding problems by creating an Isolated Ground Reference for the remote equipment. The data module accepts RS-232 and 10/100bT Ethernet signal lines running between source components and remote equipment. Devices connect to standard RJ-45 jacks on the face of the module. Ethernet cabling inside the wall connects to an RJ-45 jack, and RS-232 cabling inside the wall connects to a screw terminal block.
