Resolve the problem AND make troubleshooting easier with a powerful amplified X10 coupler-repeater for 2-phase (split single phase) electrical systems that even sends and receives test signals! Just like other coupler-repeaters, this unit helps X10 signals cross the two separate 120V legs of power found in most homes. But this revolutionary unit goes a giant step further by offering signal and error LEDs, as well as a test button that generates an ON/OFF signal. These added features allow for easy signal strength verification at individual module locations with a signal strength indicator (sold separately).

This X10 coupler-repeater is similar to a non-amplified signal bridge, but with the added ability to regenerate an X10 signal and blast it out both legs of electricity simultaneously. Provided there is at least 100mV of incoming signal, the unit will boost the outgoing signal to 5-7 volts across, depending on the impedance of the home. An LED will blink when X10 signals are detected and repeated to let you know it's operational. Plus, Leviton's exclusive Intellisense™ (gated automatic gain control) feature helps ensure top performance even when noise is present on the AC line.
The module should be installed at the main panel where electrical service enters the home. You will need two dedicated 15-amp circuit breakers (available at a home improvement center).
Is this something you can install yourself? Absolutely! If you've ever replaced a broken circuit breaker, then you have the experience to install it. It can also be installed by an electrician, typically taking no more than an hour of labor time to mount and wire it.
Note: Not for use with 3-phase systems commonly found in commercial buildings, apartments and condominiums. Use the X10 Signal Amplifier/Repeater or HomePro Amplified X10 Coupler Repeater with Repeated Signal Detection for these systems.
