The wall plate extenders mount to your wall; simply attach your source AV component to the sender extender and the destination HDTV, projector or monitor to the receiver extender. Additionally these extenders feature an IR Receiver at the Receiver Extender and an IR Emitter at the Sender Extender, so you can also control your source AV component with your existing remote control. Between the extenders, you can run up to 30 meters of Cat5e /Cat 6 cable through your walls, ceiling, attic, etc. to couple the two HDMI connections. Whether temporarily moving your television into another room or due to limitations with your home's setup, this device helps overcome the signal loss inherent to lengthy HDMI cable setups.

Manufacturer Recommendations:
(1) - Use a minimum of 24 AWG HDMI cables between the source and destination when connecting this extender, to ensure minimal signal loss and maximum High Speed signal reliability.
(2) - Although this extender will work with Cat5e UTP cables, it is strongly recommended to use Cat6 STP cabling for anything longer than minimal distances. Cat6 STP cabling will provide the highest reliability and signal integrity to ensure that your installation is trouble-free under all conditions for years to come.
